Set to 70 won't get above 67

I have a Goodman heat pump and last night Ithe outside fan wasn't running but after putting it in emergency heat for a few minutes and changing back to heat the fan kicked on and kept it at 67 all night. I am not sure what's going on. Can't be dead since it did stay at 67 all night.

Many/most heat pumps will automatically turn on the heat strips whenever the room temp is 2 or 3 degrees below the set temp. The unit was probably running on the heat strips during the night and you did not notice.

I hope so. We have a little one and definitely don't need it to get to cold.
