Installed New Thermostat, Now no Heat

I recently installed a new thermostat on my home hvac system. It is a goodman AR24 air handler. My first attempt was a miserable failure by way of not reading the instructions. I ended up having to replace my low voltage transformer and control board. Now that all that is repaired, the outside unit still doesn't want to kick on for heat. If I touch the red and yellow wires at the thermostat, it pops right on, so I know its getting plenty of high voltage. When I set the thermo to heat, the air handler kicks on, but only blows cool air, the outside doesn't make a peep.

Here are a couple pics of the old and new thermostat wiring configurations.

Thanks for any advice!

An update:

I put the old thermostat back in and everything is back working. I guess when I shorted the air handler on the first install attempt, it must have fried something in the new thermostat.
