Mitsubishi mini split + baseboard

We have a cottage in New England with no heat source.

It is two floors with the bedrooms on the second floor. First floor will be fairly open.

We are thinking of electric baseboard on the second floor. The first floor would have an electric baseboard in the bathroom and a mitsubishi hyper heat untitled for heating and cooling for the rest of the floor (700sq feet per floor)

We do not line there but would like the option.

In addition there is a fireplace that may get converted to a gas log set.

What are the thoughts on this? Is a mini split good for an entire floor?
We also considered a mini duct system but have had trouble finding a contractor.

A multi-zone mini-split heat pump system might serve well - I'd give that a good look.
The hard part might be choosing the right size unit(s) - and the success often seems to hinge on whether the contractor / installer is skilled; perhaps easier to succeed with a mini-split than a ducted system.

Also, is the cottage insulated ? Electric resistance heat might get expensive.
