Heat Pump blower runs NEARLY continuously

Hello all,

I live in Fayetteville, NC and my heat pump blower runs NEARLY continuously. Sometimes out of frustration, I disconnect the outdoor fuse for the blower motor, wait a few seconds, reinstall, and go on with my day. There are a few occasions where the blower will stop automatically. When it is warm outside, for example.

Please let me know what information is needed to possibly diagnose this problem. Also, if anyone knows of a good, reasonable tech in the Fayetteville area, please recommend. Thank you.

Welcome to the forums.

A little confusion here. The outside fan is for the condensor coil where the compressor is.
The inside fan is called a blower.

Based on outside air temps...... the heat pump may run just about continuously. That's usually better than the unit switching to the electric coils.

We also don't recommend technicians on this board. You'd need to check with neighbors or friends for that.

As PJ said, it isn't uncommon for a HP to run continuously during extreme cold weather. I supplement my HP with a wood stove so mine doesn't run as much as most but I was talking with a friend a couple of cold spells ago and he said his HP ran for 72 hrs straight.
