I am upgrading to a nest thermostat. I have an all electric house with a heat pump. my old thermostat had a w1 and a w2 wire. the w1 is my aux heat, but what do I do with the w2 wire?

We require more information.

I see a W1 and a W2 terminal on the Nest.

Post the make and model of the old stat.
Post the terminal = wire combination of the old stat.

yes, but when I put the W1 into W1 and W2 into W2, the Nest gives me an error, it can't handle a dual pump system. Of course I only have a single heat pump system..

The old stat had an E/W1 and a W2. The model of the old thermostat is a Maytag part# 9186880

Tough to diagnose that from here, W1 and W2 may be jumpered at the air handler.

Post the make and model of your old stat.

No, not jumpered at the air handler. The air handler has a W1 and a W2 that these wires are connected to...
