Radiant Floor Install

Hello all, I am in the process of getting my hot water boiler replaced and asked for quotes on getting radiant floor (PEX) installed under my kitchen floor. Install would be in the crawl, between the rafters. Square footage for the coverage is about 120 sq ft.

How much would you think it would cost to get the radiant flooring installed?

The two contractors I am talking to are quoting $1,000 to do it and I think that is really high...thoughts?

This is a DIY site and second guessing your quotes is not fair without knowing the cost that your bidders are looking at but I would have expected a higher price.

Really? For 120 sq/ft you don't think that's high? This is just the radiant portion, the boiler is already installed.

Not a pro, but have seen it installed. It is A LOT of work pulling PEX through joists not in a crawl space. $1000 doesn't sound too of base to me, plus you have two quotes close to the same. That would tell me that is pretty average. A third quote would confirm this.
