Heat pump blower acting strange

So my heat pump blower has been starting/stopping frequently and erratically for a couple years now in heat mode, we've lived with it, tho I'd like to know why the erraticness. This summer in a/c mode, it's started running continuously, but at the wrong time. That is, when I turn down the thermostat to 70-75 range, the compressor runs, and the condensor in the furnace gets frosty, but no blower. If I turn the thermo up to 80-85, the blower kicks on and the compressor goes off. If I turn the switch on thermo to off, the blower runs continuously.

If the AC runs without inside blower running you will get frost. This is really hard on the compresser. I would shut it down. What's the model number on the furnace and stat?

got home and looked at my documentation, I guess its a SnyderGeneral or Aro or something, the docs for the most part have no company name on them. I have some schematics that I'm looking at, it shows a sequencer relay in the system, I know those can act strangely. The thermostat is a Honeywell. I should be able to figure this out from the schematics, but I'm not very familiar with this kind of equipment so I was hoping for someone who knows this stuff to point me in the right direction.

Without knowing exactly what you have it's difficult to help you.

The thermostat should have a model number on it.
The air handler for the heat pump should also have an ID tag on it.

Posting a picture of the wiring diagram may be helpful. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...rt-images.html

My unit is an ArcoAire BYMB024-030GA and thermo is a generic lookin' Honeywell with basic controls, no model number noticable. It has Fan on/auto switch and a switch for Modes off/auto/cool/heat/em heat. I turned it on this am with temp around 80 or so, thermo set low, and it fired up and ran normally. Condenser getting cold and wet(not frosty) and fan working correctly. I think what might be happening is the fan goes wacky when the condenser frosts up...maybe...I'll keep ya posted, thanks...if it continues to act up and I'm stumped I'll take a pic of thermo, and scan the schematic and post...

Got it fixed with a little diagnostic help from the local HVAC co. They said the blower control board was defective, and the blower capacitor was "flat". Replaced both of those and it's working good.
