Heat pump and thermostat setting
Can someone help be determine which setting I should use based on the wires? I know we have a heat pump but only think it is 2 stage and read different things about AUX. Need to know if it is 2 stage with or without AUX and if the AUX is 1 or 2 stage.

Welcome to the forums.
We need a little more information than that.
Are you installing a new stat ? What is the make and model ?
What was the old one and where were the wires on it ?
Most heat pump systems are the heat pump with an additional electric heat coil.

New Stat was put in a couple months ago installed by the alarm company. Its a CT100 WiFi thermostat.
I had to adjust the setting once before because we would not heat. Now it won't cool. We have one thermostat that we didn't change and that one is fine. When I checked outside the unit with the new Stat was blowing cold air out.

In most heat pump applications.... the orange wire gets powered to activate the reversing valve.
What is the manufacturer of the heat pump ?
C -------> brown
O -------> orange
W -------> white
Y---------> yellow
Rc/Rh ---> red
G -------> green

If B/O are empty, you're either missing a wire or it's not a heat pump.
Are you sure the orange wire (on W) is 1st stage back up heat? That's how you have it connected and orange is (usually) reversing valve which goes on B/O.
I'm guessing here but you probably only have single stage back up heat and if that's the case the white should go on W and the orange should go on B/O.
W2 would be left empty. You should TRACE these wires though just to confirm.
