Heat pump condensor frozen when heat is on
I have a Trane Heat Pump Model No. TWE036C140B0
Outside unit is frozen... it is currently 33 F here in Indianapolis, the thermostat is set to 68 F.
The outside unit is AMERISTAR/ AMERICAN STANDARD MODEL NO. 2A6B0030A1000AB.
I just switched the system over to cooling in order to defrost the coils... how do I check to make sure the defrost board is functioning properly?
The heating system was manufactured and installed in 2004.
Daimer, Indianapolis- freezing

Welcome to the forums.
Since your outside unit is frozen over..... I'd say the board is not functioning correctly.
Running your system manually on cooling is not the same thing as being in defrost. In defrost mode.... the outside fan will cycle.
I haven't found any service info for your system yet.
