broke my heat pump installing new thermostat
My touchscreen Honeywell thermostat lost sensitivity on the right side so I attempted to replace it with a Lux tx9600ts. I believe I connected my common to the B terminal the first time. When it wouldn't work I reconnected the old thermostat which no longer works either. I can't get the fan to turn on at all even when the thermostat clicks to tell the system to turn on. My airhandler is an Armstrong sa11694. I see no fuse or breaker inside. Did I ruin my fan relay or something else easily replaceable? Wife is on my case to get this fixed but I don't want to pay a $250 service call when I can replace the $50 part myself.

Welcome to the forums.
Based on the model number you left..... the board in the picture is what your air handler uses and does have a 3A or 5A fuse on it.

Is that model number you posted the full and correct number ?
If you don't have a similar board in your unit then you probably lost the 24vac transformer.
A few pictures of the inside of your unit would be helpful. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

I'll try to get pics later. I only saw 3 components when I was I there last month. A fan relay, a transformer of some sorts, and I forget what the 3rd was. Unfortunately I only took a pick of the fan relay because it looked the least expensive lol.

Yes it is amazing that the fuse in the control wiring is the transformer(I added a real fuse to mine). Check to see if you have voltage coming from the output of your transformer at the thermostat first. I suspect you may have shorted the transformer and burned it out when changing the thermostat.

I need a bigger brighter pic of this. I see the stat wiring.... where the wire nuts are on the left but I don't see the transformer.
