Help with fuse

Well add another to the ranks of heat pump thermostat replacement fail. I have no power to the thermostat and the fuse is blown. The unit is old and I would like to replace the fuse to see if there is a bigger problem or not. What are my chances of finding this fuse at home depot? I think it is a 3.2/10 Amp. Could I upgrade to a modern type fuse?

thanks for any help

If you can get to the wiring on the back of the fuseholder you could upgrade to a newer style fuse and holder. Even an ATC fuse would be a cost effective upgrade.
