Insulation on a Bryant heat pump line ?
Hey guys,
I have a Bryant heat pump. on the outdoor condenser there's that pipe (I don't know what it's called) It's the pipe that sweats when the A/C is running and it runs back into the air handler and is hooked to the A coil. The factory insulation went bad after 10 years so i replaced it with some foam pipe insulation that you can buy at Home Depot etc. The florida sun and heat is already breaking it down.
What can you recommend that will work better than the foam insulation? Will this work?

You just need to insulate the larger copper line. You could put new split foam back over the pipe and then wrap it with that tape.

Thanks for the reply. That smaller copper tube runs right up against the larger copper line making it hard to wrap insulation around it. Can I move the smaller one out of the way a little more or is that asking for trouble?

Can you explain why it is that the small line (liquid line) is usually not insulated ? I would seem reasonable to do so, but apparently not ? Thanks.
