Second set of eyes for thermostat hookup

Hello!

I'm changing out the thermostat (Hunter) to a Nest and while I had it out, I wanted to do a quick wiring verification check. If you HVAC folks would take a look, I'd appreciate it. Just making sure everything is going to where it should be.

Regards,

Yes.... that looks correct.

W1 is heating stage 1 which is the heatpump
W2 is heating stage 2 with the heat strips.

Thanks, PJmax! What started this is I saw the pink/grey/black/brown at the thermostat and did not have a good feeling about them. So, I went underneath the house and opened the heat unit up and saw that those wires were capped off/not used.

(Those description words are what is written on the Hunter thermostat itself. And from what I can see, W1 is not used.)

So, it looks like I am in a good starting point to replace the Hunter with the Nest. Sweet!

Regards,
Leaning

Forgot to add in case anyone else needs this:

There's that jumper between the RC/R and RH terminals in the thermostat. (There's just one red wire coming in through the wall.)

According to the Nest folks: "If you have a jumper wire, discard it. Just connect all wires that come from the wall into their respective connectors on your Nest Learning Thermostat.Your single R wire can go into either Rc or Rh on the Nest Thermostat." Rc is it for me!

Just to clarify.... you have a heat pump system only..... correct ?

In your diagram you have "conventional system" and "heat pump system".
You have an FC model number for your heat. That looks like a fan coil unit but no listing in Bryant.

Correct.... no jumper between Rh and Rc.

PJmax,

I just have the heat pump, but I wanted to include that conventional setup info in the same place. Don't know if I'll ever use it, but...

Here are my resources, FYI.
