Attaching images hoping for help please or any clues at all really. I don't know what common/neutral/line mean, but I think I've managed to figure out all the wires except the yellow one. Hoping pictures will help avoid misunderstandings. [ATTACH]75519[/ATTACH] Unsure if the orange common wire that is shown attached to the capacitor is what's supposed to be spliced with the yellow wire coming out of the new motor [ATTACH]75520[/ATTACH] It is a 3 speed motor (D1036) that's replacing the original 4speed motor that was 20 years old or so. I capped off one of the medium speeds, attached high to high, low to low, and one medium. [ATTACH]75521[/ATTACH] The old motor had an orange wire going to the old capacitor. The label on the new motor doesn't show the mysterious yellow wire being attached to the capacitor so far as I can tell --- but I've no idea where it should go, it simply indicates "LINE". Hello, In my newly purchased fixer upper, I'm having an issue with no aux heat. Thankfully we've only had to bear a few cold nights here in SC, but I made the call to a local HVAC company to check it out. The technician said that my heat strips were bad (without any real explanation of why he reached this conclusion), and they later quoted $611 parts and labor to replace. After some research I decided this was too costly for what seemed like a simple swap. To my surprise, the heat strip kit I ordered (York S1-2NH04501006) included a few more relays and wiring than I expected. I decided to simply hook up the panel and elements like the old panel, saving the dissimilar relays and wiring. Sadly this was not enough to get it up and running. After deciding that I would go in to check the relays, contactors, sequencers, and fuses I could find, I got back into the cabinet. Today I found that the F24 5amp fuse (25VAC) was blown. After replacing, and re-energizing the system, the fuse blew again. I went in to take a closer look and there seems to be some heat damage coming from a small circuit next to the 6pin aux heat connector on the ECM (Source 2speed LTRIP ECM 1139-83-7002). There even seems to be some singeing on one of the pins on the backside. I assume this is a potential source for my aux heat problem. Should I try and check the functionality of the ECM, or bite the bullet for a ~$160 replacement (but worried about it sustaining the same issue)? Then should I keep the existing wiring setup, or wire in the new heat strip per the new installation manual? Everything else seems to function correctly, i was unable to find anything else hooked up incorrectly or shorted. The old heat strip panel and elements were a bit corroded. I have a multimeter and basic wiring skills, but not a substantial amount of electrical experience (I'm a composite materials engineer by trade).
