Black flakes coming out of vents

Recently had an HVAC duct cleaning and repair of holes in ducts/around the furnace.
Initially I saw the dry black flakes that will turn to powder when you rub them below the vents and thought that stuff was just part of the cleaning process.
A couple weeks later I'm still seeing them.
Not many but have no idea what that is and if this is "normal"

It sounds like it is "stuff" that was loosened up during the cleaning and not vacuumed out. I would call the cleaning company back and have them investigate and perhaps re-clean (at their expense).

Update?

Did you ever figure out where the black flakes were coming from? We are having the same issue and they’ve been cleaned several times now.

As CarbideTipped mentioned in the previous post, it turned out to be whatever gunk was loosened up during the cleaning. Eventually the black flakes subsided and all is good now.

If stuff is blowing out then it wasen't cleaned properly. Have them come back and clean it again.
