Outdoor unit humming for a long time before indoor blower startrs

I have a Trane XL 1200 heat pump. Recently, the outdoor unit will start humming for several minutes before indoor blower starts. I don’t recall this as a normal behavior, or at least it would not do it for that long. Is this the indication of Freon being low, or other problems?

The compressor could be setup to start supplying heat before the blower starts.

The real question is..... define humming ?
Is the compressor and fan running or do you just hear a hum and nothing is running ?

Thanks for reply. Yes, the outdoor unit actually started. I don't remember it would be running for so long (several minutes) before the indoor blower starts though.

My forum partner knows the Trane units better than I do but it sounds like it's acting normally. It takes a few minutes for the heat pump to build up some heat so the blower being delayed could be normal so as to not blow cold air inside.
