Not cooling caused by a capacitor?
Had both Heat Pump/Condenser and inside blower unit replaced just over a year ago. Outside condenser unit is running and all seems to be working ok, but air is not blowing cold air. Grab the copper tube and it's not cold and not sweating. So I thought it was the Freon leak, so called A/C guy.
My A/C guy said he replaced the capacitor, after few minutes, I was getting cold air. He said although fan was running, the compressor wasn't due to the capacitor. Labor was cheap, but the capacitor was $65, which I thought little high as I've bought them before at around $20 or so.
So, when the capacitor goes bad, although condenser seems to be running ok, Freon doesn't flow?

The condensor is two parts... the fan on top and the compressor.
The fan can be running but if the compressor isn't.... no cooling.
It's pretty rare for a capacitor to fail on a one year old system.
