Goodman air handler question (ar48-1) (2018 update)
Please advice if a Goodmans AR48-1 ( 4.0 TON AIR HANDLER, 60HZ, LRG),
Serial # 0205558239 with Aux Heat is using a Gas or Electric. Currently the Aux heat below 30 F is blowing Cool air. But gas pipe is located near the outside Goodmans Condenser and a large Propane gas tank un-connected. No natural gas line at the home -PHILLY Sub.
( A/C AND REGULAR HEAT IS WORKING FINE).
Thanks

Welcome to the forums.
If that has the smaller 5Kw electric coil you won't get hot air when in emergency mode or the heatpump is defrosting.
Is the heatpump unit outside running at 30 degrees?

It’s been close to 2 years since you started this thread, is this still some kind of problem?
The number you listed is for a Goodman electric heat strip.

Ok, was it serviced by a tech? Did he check the electric heat?
If you intend to fix it do you have and know how to use a meter?

Well, we can only provide suggestions. It’s up to you to check things on site. It could be anything from a miswired thermostat to broken elements.
The aux heat runs when the unit is over 2* from its heating setpoint, when the heat pump is in defrost and when the thermostat is placed in emergency heat mode.
