Heat pump wiring new thermostat
Ok so I have a trane xl1200 old thermostat had red to r blue wire to b yellow wire to y orange wire to O black wire to X2 white wire to w green to g on new thermostat has C B O W W2 Y Y2 RH RC G and A new thermostat is a ct101

Welcome to the forums.
Turn off power to air handler before changing wiring.
R - red ---------> Rh/Rc
B - blue --------> C
Y - yellow ------> Y
O - orange ----> O
X2 - black ------> tape off - not needed
W - white ------> W
G -green -------> G
System must be set before connecting the WiFi.
HVAC type switch to HP
Heat type - electric
HVAC setup - C
CT-101 install guide

You need to be checking for AC voltages.
With no thermostat connected...... you should read 24vAC from R to each letter listed.

R - G
