Trane Thermostat XR401 replacement (NEST)
I am trying to replace my Trane Thermostat XR401 with a Nest 3rd Gen.
It is a 7 wire carriage. I will post pictures of the original thermostat wiring as well as a picture of the Air Handler terminals.
I noticed that the Brown wire (Connected to W2/X2 on Thermostat) is just left unconnected in the Air Handler.
Full Air Handler Model:
4TEE3F39A1000AA
I have seen many posts here that says to connect the blue wire ("B" on Tran t-stat) to the "C" on Nest T-Stat.
Here is what I think the wiring might need to be, but I'm hoping for some confirmation before a kill something!
Trane -> Color -> Nest
R -> Red -> Rc
W2 -> Brown -> W2
W -> White -> W1
Y -> Yellow -> Y1
G -> Green -> G
O -> Orange -> O/B
B -> Blue -> C

Welcome to the forums.
A lot of pictures are not needed. You have a 10mb picture storage limit. You were over 25mb. Pictures must be resized to 600x600 and file size under 100kb.
Your wiring is fine. That terminal block is a mess. The rust and corrosion needs to be cleaned up. If the brown wire is not connected...... don't use it. Most electric reheats are on one line..... W or W1.
Turn the air handler before changing the wiring.
