Heat pump fan making noise

My heat pump fan outside started making a loud noise yesterday. It's less than 2 years old and it sounds like the fan is out balance. Only thing that happened is that it rained yesterday.

That's certainly not good on a two year old system.
The only thing rain could have done is gotten inside the motor and not drained out.
Have you watched the fan turn.... does it look like the blades are bent or out of balance ?

It's hard to tell. The blades don't look bent or anything. If I push down right on top of the motor it get a little more quiet. But it's not vibrating the whole unit or anything

That pretty much leaves a problem with the motor. Might be a good time to call the installer back.

Around here the service guys are backed up for weeks. I wonder if they will just drop off a new motor for me to install lol. I wish they would.

It's possible. They would need to hear it first to confirm the problem.
The motor should be covered under a five years parts only warranty.
