vintage Bell and Gossett weeps when pumping
My single zone boiler system has a B&G pump with 1 1/2" flanges and pumps up 25' to iron radiators on the second floor. I re-installed the pump after a couple years but it now leaks at the weep hole. Are the gaskets shot or is it more than that? She hums beautifully and pumps well. There is a tag that says P8Z - 4351, but nothing that says model or HP, or specs. It is reduced to 1" pipe at both the boiler and pump, but I wonder what a decent replacement would be such as a Taco 1/8 HP etc..., or should I fix the B&G. How do I know how big a pump this is? its the original to the system, I believe.

Welcome to the forums.
I'm not the pro here.... just checking thru.
That number is referencing a bearing assembly.
When looking at that I see a 1/6hp cast iron pump with shroud at impeller end.
I would definitely consider replacing that with a Taco pump.
The pro's should be by to offer additional help.

Thanks for the response! When looking at the picture I guess it does look like old junk with bad paint and old grease, but it runs so darn well. Would a nice replacement be a 1/6 hp as well, or are they more efficient now? The boiler system is fairly new but this pump is from the old boiler system.
On amazon I see a Taco 1/8 HP for about 260 bucks delivered with the flanges. Seems pretty cheap...

What is the boiler Btu/hr rating? That will help us get you in the ballpark for a Taco pump. By the way, this needs to be in the boiler forum, not heat pump forum.
