Tempstar air handler
I have a model FEM4P3600AT. With the system off and the blower/ fan set on auto, the fan quit shutting off.
It appears to be the fan motor. I have been told it is a smart motor that has a circuit board on it and something is wrong with that. The motor runs beautiful.
Can I keep the motor and add a relay for the fan control 24v?

You need to check the 24v speed taps to see if one is staying active.
That would keep the motor running.

That's what it is. I was told it is in the board on the motor and I need a new motor. I was quoted a new "smart" motor for $755.00 or a new board for $580.00 or a generic motor, without the board and a relay for $542.00. I was wondering if they can put a generic motor, and a relay, why they couldn't use the old good motor and a relay.
