Trane XR13 thermostat help

I have a Trane XR13 with a trane thermostat. I have noticed lately that the temperature reading is incorrect on the t stat. So I want to replace. The only tstats at Home Depot is Honeywell. The Honeywell box says not for use with aux/backup heat. Iím not sure if I have this. The air handler does have a 10kw heater installed. Lately we have been having issues where the heat pump runs a lot, but blows not so warm air. One example we flip the Tstat to emergency heat the air warms up and heats the house and the unit will actually shut off for a bit. After about an hour of running in emergency heat we turn back to normal heat and it blows warm for a while.

Can someone explain what is going on?
I also would like to know how to wire new tstat. The old tstat I have now is pictured and the air handler is pictured. Should the w and w2 have a jumper?

Welcome to the forums.

G -------> green --------> G
O -------> orange ------> O
B -------> blue ----------> C (common)
W1 -----> white --------> AUX
R -------> red -----------> R
Y -------> yellow -------> Y

If the stat doesn't have system programming.... it can use jumpers.
Your system only has one electric heat unit. The jumper at the stat allows the electric heat to run with the heat pump as aux heat or to work in E heat only.

Can't give specifics on new thermostat without a model number.
You need a thermostat for heat pump operation WITH backup heat.
It sounds like your heat pump system may require a recharge.

You have auxiliary heat, and will need a thermostat able to control it.
Sounds like you need to have the heat pump serviced. It may be low on refrigerant due to a leak.
Is the compressor and fan motor starting when it calls for heating?
