change thermostat reading location

I have a Mitsubishi Heat pump PVFY-P48NAMU-E1. Thermostat (PAR-40MAAU)
Its located in the basement and the thermostat is on the main floor.
The temperature its reading on the main floor is the temperature downstairs. about 5 - 6 degrees difference between there and main floor.
Mitsubishi tells me there is a way to change the reading to the main floor but wont tell me because Im not the contractor. This has to be done via some switches as its not possible to do via the unit on the main floor.
And contractors around where i am are busy as hell and expensive.
Anyone have any pointers??

You have a heat pump air handler (PVFY-P48NAMU-E1) in the basement.
You have only one thermostat (PAR-40MAAU) and it's on the first floor.
PAR-40 installation manual - pdf
You need to go to page 23-24.
Look at Table 1 - 02 setting..... it's probably set for 2 and needs to be changed to 3.

According to Mitsubishi some switches need to be changed at the pump electrical location, not on the LCD thermostat. They said since it's a commercial unit , it's not able to get switched via the LCD

I would check the position of SW1 switch 1 to verify that it is On.

Does #1 SW1 turned on mean the temp is read at the heat pump unit (basement) or upstairs on the LCD thermostat

The factory setting is off. This will use the sensor in the air handler.
You want to turn it on to use the stat sensor.

Yours is off. Turn it on.

if anyone is still notified to this thread can you tell me which switch to change to set the fan to go off when the desired temperature is reached?
Currently the fan stays on 24 / 7 and only goes off when the system is off. But im leaving on vacation and dont want to leave the fan on for a month...

So I did some research and found that the switch you need to change is the Fan After switch. It should be located on the bottom of the thermostat, near the power switch. The switch will have three positions:
  • OFF - The fan will only turn off when the unit is completely turned off.
  • AUTO - The fan will turn off after the desired temperature is reached, but it will turn back on if the temperature goes above or below the set point.
  • ON - The fan will always stay on, regardless of the temperature.

To change the Fan After switch to AUTO do the below:
  • Turn off the power to the heat pump.
  • Locate the thermostat.
  • Find the Fan After switch.
  • Move the switch to the AUTO position.
  • Turn on the power to the heat pump.

The fan should now turn off after the desired temperature is reached.
