Air handler on 24/7
Just got a new Moovair heat pump and air handler installed. I’m waiting for a new thermostat as the one they installed is not what I ordered.
in any event, I’ve been told by others on online forums that this unit’s air handler will run 24/7 when in “auto” or “cool” mode.
does that make sense? Does this occur with other manufacturers?

An air handler running continuously in the AUTO mode pretty much defeats the purpose of a thermostat.
Most air handlers only run on a call for heating or cooling.
Fan On is reserved for continuous operation.
You could post the air handler model number and I can check further.

I will say that the outdoor fan turns on and off as needed but the air handler runs 24/7 and as I mentioned another user online said the same thing.

I have to check further when I get back to the shop.
I did read...... auto mode is constantly variable for maximum efficiency.

A continuously running fan is commonly found with mini splits. They get to claim higher SEER ratings this way.
Sadly this will promote the growth of mold in the air handler.
I recommend adding a UV light.
