NEW Shop Heater and Gas supply line not firing

Ok so I finally got my Radiant heater for the garage and installed it hooked up the gas supply line and tried to fire it up and it did about 3 cycles with nothing.

All my line was pressure tested for leaks right up to the heater and the last couple of connections were soap tested for leaks. All my valves are open.. No I have about 80 ft of fresh 3/4 inch line hooked to the radiant heater. I turned the gas on for the first time and so far I have gotten nothing. How long should I let it keep trying.

I was told not to bother bleeding the line that the system will bleed itself and it will try to ignite until it does, but I'm wondering how long before the gas reaches the heater.

It's got 80ft of what was empty pipe to travel.

It could take quite a while to get there.

Do you have a service valve at the unit ?
Turn it off and crack the gas fitting on the heater side.
Turn valve on slowly to purge air out.

Of course....make sure no open flame or spark nearby. Use common sense in bleeding the line or have a plumber do it for you. Also make sure heater is unplugged or turned off.
