Thumbs up Cats Out Of Flower Beds, Gardens and Off Lawns (Updated Information)

Thinking Cap On? Hope so...

Have cats leaving deposits in soil area in flower beds?...

Want a safe, quick and simple method to deter the depositing activity?

Simple.

Spread Moth Balls (Not Crystals) onto soil areas away from flowers, etcetera but onto the nearby soil areas. Cats HATE... the smell and stay away...

Posted this years ago and got inundated with the what if's!!! What if kids in the area? What if dogs in the area? What if's abound. Solution: Disregard tip...

Cats Out Of Flower Beds, Gardens and Dirt Only Areas (Updated)

Amazing! Wondering why I hadn't thought of this before...

Care not to use moth balls? Additional possible solution.

While in the big box store, I strolled over to the herbicidal and pest control section. Area that has products to rid your gardens and lawns of pests section.

What was found? 2 products to rid those bare and/or dirt areas of cats and dogs. Prevent them from using the area(s) as litter boxes!!!...

Read the contents on the packages. Main ingredients are both freeze dried blood and Red peppers and both crushed into a fine powder!

BTW: No mentioning of who's blood...HA HA...YIKES! Ever wonder what the mortician does with all that blood?...

Pepper!!!??? Yep! Spicy Hot Red Chill Peppers. Black Pepper maybe?

Amazing. Why didn't I think of that...

Does it work? Task completed today. Testing is now in progress.

Time for a BREW....

Update Results.

Product works.
Powdery & Spicy hot pepper is a natural deterrent...
However, not for very long...
Product needs repeated applications. Susceptible to moisture and or watering, etc.
Personal Summation: Not recommended... Unless you have the time to repeat the application process and money to continually repurchase the product....

Better Solution:
Moth Balls last longer and work better overal, in my opinion.

Best Solution:
Ground covering vegetation works best...
