Mounting for bathroom fixtures

Mounting for bathroom fixtures

Is (or perhaps was) the below a standard mounting style? Or no longer? Or just unique to one brand? We're finally getting around to changing out a bunch of fixtures (towel rings/bars, tp holders...) in 3 bathrooms, and they all seem to have this type of mount. Not sure if because that was standard a decade ago (or whenever prior owner installed them) or if because they are same brand.

I ask because it would be ideal if I found replacements that used the same hardware, so I could just install them over the existing mount in the wall (assuming same width).

It is a very common way to attach things like towel racks but there is little to no standardization. You might get lucky but I would plan on having to replace the wall mounting bracket. Luckily all new racks include the bracket and you might be able to reuse at least one of the old screw holes.

Those are often brand specific... and you would have a hard time finding anything that matches it exactly.
