Mounting wire shelf in pantry

Mounting wire shelf in pantry
My new apartment has tall and wide pantry shelves and I'd like to add a wire shelf to split them in half. I found a shelf that would suit my needs but I'm not sure how to mount it. I'm looking at https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt...0321/314700882. I don't want to put in the support system because I just want to fix 1 shelf in place, and I really don't need the heavy duty weight capacity; it just happens to be the right size and the price is nice, too. I can wall mount or connect to the the shelf above. Any ideas? Thanks.

Place a piece of wood on the existing shelf at each end and put the wire shelf on top of the wood. The wood should be half of the height between shelves and about 16 inches from front to back if you want equal height shelves. A piece of 1x? cut to the correct dimensions will work. If the existing shelves are also wire you may need to use a 2x?. If needed another piece can be placed in the back at the center to prevent sagging. The front will not sag.

Good idea 2john but that assumes the wire shelf is the same as the existing shelf width.
It comes in longer sizes. You could get a longer unit and cut it tight to fit in wall space.
You could then mount it to the wall with clips.
You can use regular shelf brackets. They come in many sizes..... shelf brackets

PJ guessed right; I don't want the wire shelf to go all the way across.
Assuming I'd use shelf brackets, how would I connect the bracket to the wire shelf?
Additionally, would there be any practical way to not mount it, but rather attach legs? It would be cleaner in that I wouldn't have to mess too much with a rented apartment, but it may look terrible and may not hold the weight. I'm just fishing for ideas.

What material are the existing shelves? Wire, wood? A picture would help us to make suggestions. Sketching in what you have in mind for the length, width and height of the new shelf would also help.
