I added new ceiling fixtures several years ago. The existing installation had switched half hot receptacles. The most convienient way to install was to cut the wire in the attic that ran from the switch to the receptacle. Then I installed a new junction box in the attic and from there connected to a new ceiling box and fixture. The J-Box is exposed in the attic but not to a habitable room. The attic is an unfinished truss area with minimal headroom and access only through a ceiling panel. I'm about to sell the house and want to know it this approach is acceptable under code or if I'll get hung on a house inspection. Help Please???

I am in my new construction home five months. Last night the master bath lights and ceiling fan all quit at the same time. No circuit breaker was in the off position when I checked the panels. The electrician did not ID the circuits well in the main box, choosing instead to just say "plugs and lights" or the like. The lights and fan are the only ones out. Plugs in the room are working. Request assistance or ideas. Thank you
