gang box needed?

im trying to deside if there is a better way to join a group of wires other than just pigtailing them is it possiable to just have or build a gang station like on old telephone lines where you just loop the wires around a steel bolt then put like a nut or some other fastener on their if this is possiable would it be code compliant any ideas would be great

What kind of wires?

If they are AC power wires, there are somewhat strict rules you need to follow.

If they are a bunch signal wires that need paralleled, a 66 or 110 block might do.

Even if you are talking about low voltage wiring, most state building codes have requirements for the termination of cables. There many ways of doing this, more specifics would be helpful.
