Control4 Home Automation Experience

Just curious if anyone on the forum has any experience purchasing, installing, or using Control4 Home Automation?

I have no direct experience with it, but the people I know in the biz who have used it say it works as advertised.

They seem to be targeting the market between inexpensive and limited X-10-style automation systems and Crestron and AMX at the high end.

Depending on how sophisticated your needs are, you may also want to check out Calypso products.

What do you plan to do?

I do use Control4 in my house. Been using it for a year and we are very happy with it.

It is not intended to be a diy system.

Please let me know if you have other questions.

I would be doing some pretty standard monitoring/control.

1. Monitor Control 2 HVAC Zones. May lead into additional environmental monitoring including, relative humidity, CO2, CO, AHU Leaving Air Temp.

2. Monitor/Control Security System. I will need to upgrade the existing system to be compatible with whatever front end we decide on.

3. Outdoor Lighting Control

4. Sprinkler Control w/ advanced control dependent on weather conditions.

5. May eventually look into additional HVAC controls, i.e. damper controls, Outdoor Air Damper Control, attic temp, attic exhaust fan status, etc.

6. Not sure if we have suffient media library to integrate with a home system - we are still interested in Intercoms for the bedrooms, front door, etc. Last info i received recommended a Nutone system for that application.
