Television tube problem

Hi, I have a 27 inch sharp Tv,9 yrs old. recently,a skinny black line appeared on the bottm of the screenand has been getting bigger by the day. Is my picture tube fried.....can it be fixed or is it time to buy a new Tv.... Thanks...Len

scanner622000, If the picture is reducing in size you have one or two leaky electrolytic capacitors or cracked solder joints on the pins of the vertical IC in the vertical circuit. Whats the model number of this television?

Old VCR

I have an old VCR that works good except reception is bad when it comes to recording channels 4 and 6. Higher channels are fine. I lived with that for awhile, but it reached a point where the picture was not good on those channels even when I had the VCR off and watched the TV. I tried bypassing the VCR by hooking the antenna cable directly to the TV and it came in perfect. I also tried a different VCR (using all the same cables) and everything was fine. I wouldn't hesitate to junk it except this VCR has so many features that most of the name brands don't. Any hope here?Read More

hi, i'm a newbie to tv repair, so bear with me. the audio on this unit is quiet(even when set to max)just started a few weeks back. also the picture goes fuzzy every once in a while, and when you flex the circuit board it returns to normal, which means to me something is loose?? any ideas??Read More
