Hitachi Projection TV image problem
Hi, my 6 year old 50" Hitachi Ultravision rear Projection has started to give me problem in the last few months. The symptom is as so:
Horizontal scanlines shows up on the left and right side and image distorbs in a zig zag patter along the scanlines. Image brightness also flashes sporadically. Image color and convergence is still good however. What's causing this? It seems almost that a connection is loose or something. Is this a common problem? And how difficult is it to fix?

Freddie, I'll try but mean while heres a post on newsgroup from someone else with the same problem. Maybe he explained it better than I.
This 50" rear projection set has developed some
jitter and wave effect on the lower half of the screen.
It seems to be more noticeable with text on screen.
Problem is not there all the time,and auto convergence
has been done.Does it sound like a bad cap in the vert?
David I know you see alot of these,what do you think?
