Part location is Q4502 VERTICAL cap 25v 1500uF

Blackie, I don't have the rca part number on that cap but, you can do this instead. You can use a 2200uf@35volts or a 1000uf@35volts and a 470uf@35volts, connect those two in parallel. What part of the board is this capacitor located? That was'nt you recently over in the tech-assist forum?

it was probably me, i got that cap checked it was good
i'm taking tv repair and almost done and i'm never going to get
this one big tv working LOL
I HAVE or it seems i have, checked everything 10 times over
the only thing i have'nt really checked is for open fuseble resistors
because i'm not quite sure how to tell if they are open
can you help me there

Blackie, I have not given up on this tough dog, every now and then one comes along. This is the nature of the business. You check low value resistors the same way you check high value resistors. For example if you have a 1ohm resistor and it reads 300K or higher on your meter then that resistor has change value due to a short in the circuit.

So you did check for the 5.1volts at IR PICK-up, was the voltage there?

IR PICK-up

I can find it on my paper but I can't find the place on which broad
IR PICK-up I mean
but I did find the Diode run .33.7 to be bad
do i have to order that or can i just sub it
and would know the sub i have alot of diodes

blackie, The IR(infrared sensor)is mounted on the front panel control board next to the function buttons.

general purpose

it's a general purpose diode the little black with the silver band
cr4118 and cr4119 they are .33.3
and i'm getting .448 on one and .446 on cr4119

Blackie, What do you mean by .33.3?
If your read is .448 in one direction and you check the other direction and get a higher read then the diode is not blown. If the read is zero or slightly above in both directions then it is blown. If it shows no read then it is open. There is a possibliy the diodes are leaky under load.

.448 in one direction and nothing in the other direction
on my paper it's
CR4118 and CR4119 They are +33.7 RUN

+10V i'm getting 0
+12v i'm getting 0
