Ok..I have a RCA 32in TV. Its about 5 years old now. About two months ago, after watching tv for a little while, the screen would start to get really dark, till you couldn't see anything, just black. It would do this for awhile, until one day, I turned it on and just black, you could hear the shows and people talking. But no picture, so I just brought it downstairs, and let it sit for awhile. Well, about a month or so later, I try to see if it will work again, it did, for a few days, then did the same things as before. But it got worse, now it doesn't even turn on, with the remote or the button on the TV. I looked at the fuse and it is still good. Any ideas on what would cause all these problems? I don't want to just throw it away if I can get it fixed..Thanks guys

*Edit* I forgot to mention that when it was working, the TV would sometimes flicker, like its turning off and then back on..?

 

Sounds like an EEPROM problem due to the solder joints for ground cracking at several points on the circuit board. You'll need a service tech on this one.

Rar..thanks. I will prolly just end up taking it to a repair shop. Any idea on how much they usually cost to fix? Speaking generally
