That should be a magnavox chassis. Whats the date of manufacture on that chassis?

There are several tech tips covering this problem with this chassis. This is the most common correction as follows:

Set shuts off and comes back on immediately.

Install a [email protected] filter(electrolytic capacitor) from D470 cathode to hot ground. (+ to cathode - to hot ground. Diode comes off the base of Q470 (pulse shaper). The best place to get your hot ground is from D480 which comes off the emitter of Q470. The anode of D480 connects to hot ground.

Tech Tips as follows:

1)Power goes off for a second/Resolder grounds on outer edge of pc board.

2)Shutdown(int)/Check C401, Z402, R402, resolder T463, and T488.

3)Shutdown(int)/Q401 needed resoldering.

4)Shutdown(int)/Resolder T500-Standby power transformer(loacted on control panel).

5)Shuts down/R476 changed value. Carefully select new resistance of~115k and test 130volt line. Trim resistor as needed. Note if B+ is low, vetical foldover at top will occur. Adjust B+ higher.

6)Shuts down/Resolder C402
