mitsu 50"

My10 year old mitsubishi 50 inch rear projection is having a problem with the picture "pinching in" at the bottom. One repair guy said he would take the tv on trade for a new one as the repair was more than it is worth. Do I need another repair guy or a new set?

The picture is narrowing at the bottom, like a reverse hour glass effect. Hope that helps

Sounds like you have a keystoning problem usually due to a open circuit in the horizontal coils of the deflection yoke(s). If there is a short in the yoke(s) or in an output transformer it will also cause this effect. Its very rare for this effect to happen.

Anyway you can take a snapshot of this and email it to me?

I checked a tech tip from another model, VS45VA1.

Tech Tip as follows:

Keystoning/ Bottom Narrow and Top Wide.

1)Replace electrolytic capacitors C5a1 and C5a2 ([email protected]) on pincushion board.
