Picture is shrinking

I have a 27 in. Toshiba tv. (1992 model). Lately the picture is getting smaller at the bottom. Seems like I am losing about 2 inches of of the picture. Once it warms up, I gain some back. Please help. Thanks.

Sounds as if the tube is going.

It is NOT the tube. You are having vertical problems. It is very common for Toshiba sets after a few years.

Dakota, Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Is it worth fixing? Thanks.

The I.C (chip) that controls the vertical scan, or an electrolytic capacitor associated with it, may be faulty.

Electrolytic capacitors tend to dry out after a period of time and can cause the sort of problem you are experiencing.
