sony trinitron image with purple hues
I have a sony trinitron tv 27 inches model KV27TH70. The images have only purples colors/hues in them. I have tried to adjust all the components on the image menu (color, tint, etc) but I can't change them. Thanks for your help.

If you turn down the color control can you get a black and white image. If the color control does this then the problem is likely in one of the chrominance channels. If it has no effect whatsoever the problem is likely to be in the color mixing amplifiers just before the tube. Possibly one of the color channels has failed giving the purple color. I cannot remember which one gives this effect.
I don't think it would be too hard or costly fix if it just an amp that has failed.

If the picture is still purple with the colour turned down, the green content of the picture is either missing or low. This could be a faulty component/connection in the section that drives the CRT's green gun (as rav 12 suggested). Since the TV is around 10 years old, it could also be the CRT itself suffering from low emission of the green gun.
