Lightning Strike
Hello, lightning hit my house and damaged our 35 inch sony trinitron television. Would like to try and repair myself. However I am a newbie. When I turn it on it sounds like it powers up but, I get no picture or sound. Any ideas where I should start to look or what to look for would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you are not a trained electronic tech then you won't be repairing it yourself. Lightning damage is sometimes extensive. Just when you have one thing fixed something else pops up.
Repair should also be covered by your insurance if you care to go that route.
