Sony 1080

Hi my sony 1080 receiver has developed a fault, One of the s-vdeo inputs is now only B&W all the others still show colour, any ideas as I really want to repair this myself? Help much appreciated

What model sony receiver do you have.

If you're watching 1080 you should be using DVI or at least component video.

The UK 1080 doesnt have component only S-Video

Have you checked your S-video cable for a bent or broken pin?
Tried a different cable?

Or, the female connector on the receiver could have a bad connection.

Graphic Equalizer

I have found a 1987 Graphic Equalizer that is supposed to fit into my 1988 T-Bird Coupe. It has a female plug in the back that has a male plug in it and wires where it was cut out of the junk car it came from. The male plug does not resemble any male plugs visable to me from the front of the instrument panel, and the local Ford dealer says there were not any optional wiring harnesses for that year car. I bought the car new, and I bought the best radio system I could for it. Who knows where the plug for the equalizer might be?Read More

Malfunctioning DVD player-does recognize disk

DVD-V2000 Samsung will not play disk. Gives message "This disk can not be played. Please check disk" I started to play a disk when it would stop and start again. It became more frequent so i thought the disk was no good. I switched to another disk movie and now all i get is the above message. Does anyone have any ideas? This is a combo player and the video tape player side works fine.Read More
