Malfunctioning DVD player-does recognize disk
DVD-V2000 Samsung will not play disk. Gives message "This disk can not be played. Please check disk"
I started to play a disk when it would stop and start again. It became more frequent so i thought the disk was no good. I switched to another disk movie and now all i get is the above message. Does anyone have any ideas? This is a combo player and the video tape player side works fine.

If you're getting this message, it is most likely to be the lense. In which case it will probably be too late to use a cleaning CD as the DVD wont recognize it.
You could try cleaning the lense with a cleaning alcohol yourself if you know what you're doing.
If the message only comes up with some Dvd's then there may be a compatibility problem.
Have a look on the back of the dvd disk case to find out what region it is. Then just find out what regions your player reads
