So i'm assuming there is no difference. The reason I asked is because the old TV'S with the separate connections for UHF/VHF recieved better on the same antenna than the GE brand straight cable connection I have now, must be the way their making them them then.

As far as the brand to buy - get the one you think has the better picture - remember to compare apples to apples. Have the two choices (or more) receiving the same signal.
We've had good luck with a Terk antenna for uhf/vhf. We were even able to pick up some uhf digital signals that were 15 - 20 miles away.

comparing picture quality on 2 tvs is really a pita. the differences you see in the store are mostly dependant on whatever bizarre settings were applied at the factory, or changed by some random person playing with the tv. in other words, the picture that you see on a tv in the store is mostly nothing like the best possible picture you can get out of the tv.
the only real way to compare them is to calibrate them both with a disc like Avia or Video Essentials and then compare the results. this would take about an hour of screwing around in the store.
for 13" tvs, i'd shop based on features and asthetics. based on those brand names, they are both bound to look like hell in a few years. w/o knowing anything else about them, i'd choose the sanyo.
