I have a Sharp tv with no sound. Model #25KV785. It was manufactured in Nov. 1985.
The picture is good, although it doesn't come on instantly like it used to. Anyway the sound is out. There were storms in my area about the time the sound went out on it. Don't know if I had a lightning strike or not.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Worth repairing?

TIA

If you have an ohmeter the most obvious place to start would be to check the speaker. If the speaker is bad it would be a cheap & easy fix. You probably can't fix the set yourself if there something more than just a bad speaker. Maybe just replacing the speaker is more than you'd care to try because that usually involves getting inside the TV, depending on where the speaker happens to be mounted.
