Red face Wiring Speakers in a Finished Basement

Please advise. Our basement is already finished, but now we want to install speakers in the wall for a surround sound system. How can we do this and keep the wires from showing?

feed wires behind baseboard until you get to the point of the wall you want to mount them at.
remove baseboard at that point.
drill hole in wall behind baseboard to access wall cavity.
punch hole in wall where you want to mount the speaker.
feed wire through wall, mount speaker.

If this is a basement you may not have a wall cavity to feed anything through. My parents basement was concrete walls with panel glued to that. You did say install them in the wall so you may have your solution from stereoguy already, but If you don't have a wall cavity my idea would be hide via baseboard or under edge of carpet till you get to where the speakers are going to be mounted and use a wire that blends with the wall in color or use some small trim if possible to cover it. Another idea would be speakers that are wireless. There are several types out there that use a small sending unit attached to your receiver and you can place the speakers anywhere in the room with no wire hassle.
