While I'm here I might as well ask about the other issue as well. :rolleyes: Before Dish install all was fine with recording...after Dish install, I have skipping issues. When I record and play it back the VCR doesn't track it properly and it skips all through out the recording. I've tried numerous brand new tapes and old ones but they skip now. Also it does NOT skip when watching a commercial video tape. Any idea why this would happen? Thanks again

I have a KV27FV300. This tv has been operated for a total of about 8 months. For the last 6 months it has been unplugged. I plugged it in this weekend and reset the channels as I am on a different cable system. The first thing I noticed was that it did not respond to the remote control. The red light that tells me the remote is sending a signal was coming on but no response from the tv. (Of course when I first turned it on, I had to do it manually from the set.) You can press any of the buttons on the actual tv whether it is volume up or down, channel up or down or any of the menus buttons and the same thing happens. For example, if you want to change channels. Pressing the "up" button one time and the screen goes dark and the VHS indicator comes on the screen. Pressing one more time and the screen goes dark and the DVD indicator comes on. Pressing one more time and the picture comes back and it has now progressed one channel. It is consistent because it does the same thing over and over. If you change the volume, the same thing happens... vhs, dvd, and then the picture comes back with the volume up. Pressing any of the menu buttons will just cycle it thru those 3 steps and the picture reappears. I read in the owners manual how to return the tv to "factory settings" but the only way is with the use of the remote which the tv doesn't respond to. I have had a quasar tv for 21 years without a screw driver on it. A Sharp for 15 years without being touched. I thought with Sony I was buying the cadillac of companies for quality and I have not even gotten an actual years service out of this set. Thanks for any help. andy
