Pink TV picture

I have an Zenith TV from 98 (model number Z27X31D). It has worked well for all these years but suddenly a few days ago, the screen turned pink. Everything now appears in a deep pink colour. Is this fixable ?

Thanks

Zenith

This is usually the sign that you have lost drive to the green gun in the CRT. The most common cause that I have found is failure of the green amp transistor. There is the possibility that the CRT itself is bad but I would check the transistor first.

T.Vs are particularly dangerous to work on as they use extremely high voltages inside (unlike cd players or vcrs, etc which generally transform the mains supply down to around 12v, CRT T.Vs and computer monitor transform the mains voltage up to thousands of volts). if you dont know much about electronics, leave it to a profesional repairman.
