Need In-wall/ceiling Speakers for HT

As the addition construction is winding down, I purchased an Onkyo HTS770S, 6.1 home theater system for the bedroom. The decorator came over and said "no" to mounting the three rear speakers over the bed. She said they had to be recessed. Any thoughts as to what to replace the three rear Onkyo speakers with that can be mounted either in the wall or ceiling? What would be compatible that is also in-line with this moderately priced system. The wires have been run but the sheet rock has not been installed. Thanks.

No in walls will sound the same as your Onkyo fronts, and the mismatch will mess up sound panning from front to rear. Not a huge deal, but it can be noticable.

Ideally you would find a set of inwalls that sound good to you, and have bookshelf speakers with matching drivers that you would replace your fronts with later. You'd be looking at $200-300 per speaker at least in that scenario.

If you want to spend less, which I'm guessing you do since you bought the Onkyo system (a great system for the money), you should buy whatever inwalls you can find that sound ok to you.

These are probably good for the money:

Look at the Polk in-walls at Circuit City.

Who's house is this? Is it your house or the decorator"s house?
